– the women behind Ringwood’s newest health & fitness centre
For Kirsten Jones and Corinne Rayson, Legacy Health & Fitness isn’t just about lifting weights or eating vegetables; it’s about transformation of the mind, body and soul.
The space is a testament to Kirsten and Corinne’s combined 13 years in the personal training and coaching space. After running their businesses separately for the past 7 years, they decided to combine forces and bring their communities together to create one wholesome and holistic health space, which they opened in November 2020. These two powerhouse women both believe in ‘going further and faster, together’, and share an exciting vision for the space in the future.
Their desire to help women improve their lifestyle and their relationship with themselves is something that hits very close to home. “I struggled with my weight my entire life”, says Kirsten. “I would jump from diet to diet, and I would never find results long term. It wasn’t until I discovered a process that allowed me to build a healthy lifestyle, and still enjoy the things I loved, that my whole life changed. I was able to ditch the diet drama, and now I’m on a mission to pass this knowledge on to as many women as I can.”
You won’t find what you’d expect when walking through the doors. The space feels less like a gym, and more like a clubhouse, where women go to socialise, feel empowered, and transform into their best selves. There’s no pressure, there’s no judgement and there’s certainly no dreaded D word — DIET!
Legacy Health & Fitness combines group fitness training, weight training, and a complete nutrition and lifestyle program, to improve the health, wellbeing and happiness of its members. And while this may sound like just another gym, or just another quick fix, the culture that Kirsten and Corinne have built is anything but. “Mastering your health can have such a significant impact on your whole life”, says Corinne. “We want our clients to discover our holistic process that will improve their mental health, physical health and their strength. Getting in shape is simply a cherry on the top of an awesome experience in ultimate living”.
For those who may be unconvinced that this clubhouse is anything more than a gym, Kirsten and Corinne are putting together a social committee, who will plan team dinners, activities, and even weekend retreats. “The whole community screams family, and these experiences will give members a chance to stop, pause, calibrate and then accelerate to where they want to go”, says Kirsten.
“With Corinne’s coaching and support, I realised that food wasn’t the enemy I thought it was”, says Legacy member, Deb Burton. “I had become so afraid of eating, and I was at continuous war with food. Through Legacy, I learned to love and enjoy food, and I appreciate that nothing is off limits. I’m 61, and I’ve never felt fitter, stronger, healthier and happier in my life! It feels so good to be surrounded by strong, positive and wonderful women, and to belong to such a fantastic community. I’m living life to the fullest, I love the way I feel and I still can’t believe the person looking back at me in the mirror!”
For Kirsten and Corinne, this year is about bringing their Legacy family together, embedding their roots in Ringwood, and changing the status quo of diet culture for women. “We want to become the best in our game”, says Kirsten. “We will continue on our own journey of self mastery, to show our clients just what is possible for them, and we can’t wait to help more women learn the power of Legacy, so they can ditch the diet drama for good!”
